something crazy...

have you ever turned your keyboard upside down before? Do you have any idea how much crap falls in between the keys? its kinda nasty really.... like look at these pants - theyve got all kindsa crumbs and crap on them. nasty...

on a lighter note.... traditioooooooon.. TRADITION

i guess it's been awhile (sorry compy). i guess i've just been busy.... with my new job as a janitor - thats right, you heard me - a janitor

it started a while ago. last year, i kinda told my parents that i would get a job... and i didnt. i decided to do another year of volunteer stuff that i so enjoy doing.
now my parents - they own some buildings down in "the point" (point edward) that require cleaning once a week. they figured that i could squeeze that into my schedule.
and i have. i desperately need the money, and its not all that much work for how much im getting paid - a whopping $100/month for a few hours a week. sounds like a good deal to me.

"but owen" you ask - "isnt this sort of degrading for you? cleaning other people's mess?"

no, no its not

at the risk of sounding clichéish, i shall defend myself with this claim - it's honest work

honestly - why are these kinda jobs looked down upon? as many a housewife may tell you, its not boring easy work. its someone getting paid to clean up your crap - what kind of job could be more demanding (or depressing) than that? these people do hard work and deserve every penny they get paid - and some that they dont.

so lets hear it for the underdogs.

now the song you've been listening to for a little while now (yes there's a song playing - just quietly) might seem.... odd - or maybe its odd that i have a strange liking for folk music - you wanna know what i have to say to that? - get over it. This is an awesome song about a certain custom of trick or treat (in england or some such place) - not where kids dress up like dead things in october - its in the christmas season (and is therefore a christmas song) - its also one of the greatest guitar songs ever written - enjoy

A Soalin' - Peter Paul and Mary

Hey ho, nobody home, meat nor drink nor money have I none
Yet shall we be merry, Hey ho, nobody home.
Hey ho, nobody home, Meat nor drink nor money have I none
Yet shall we be merry, Hey ho, nobody home.
Hey Ho, nobody home.

Soal, a soal, a soal cake, please good missus a soul cake.
An apple, a pear, a plum, a cherry,
any good thing to make us all merry,
One for Peter, two for Paul, three for Him who made us all.

God bless the master of this house, and the mistress also
And all the little children that round your table grow.
The cattle in your stable and the dog by your front door
And all that dwell within your gates
we wish you ten times more.

Go down into the cellar and see what you can find
If the barrels are not empty we hope you will be kind
We hope you will be kind with your apple and strawber'
For we'll come no more a 'soalin' till this time next year.

The streets are very dirty, my shoes are very thin.
I have a little pocket to put a penny in.
If you haven't got a penny, a ha' penny will do.
If you haven't got a ha' penny then God bless you.

Now to the Lord sing praises all you within this place,
And with true love and brotherhood each other now embrace..
This holy tide of Christmas of beauty and of grace,
Oh tidings of comfort and joy.
